About AGILIS

AGILIS Sportswear was created by Shane Williams MBE. A Welsh sporting icon and the highest British try-scorer in international rugby union, since retiring from the professional game he has found a new passion in endurance sports.

Demanding the highest standards of himself and his equipment that saw him become World Player of the Year in 2008, Shane never found a brand that gave him the competitive edge he was looking for when racing, while looking equally good in his leisure time. 

So he decided to create his own.

The launch of the business marked the beginning of a vision shaped by experience, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. What began as a retail-focused brand was the result of twelve months of intensive development, testing, and refinement. Drawing on years of wearing hundreds of different kits across training, competition, and recovery, Shane approached the process as if his entire career had been one long market-research exercise.

Rooted in the Amman Valley, Shane had grown up surrounded by some of the most scenic—and challenging—cycling routes in the country. Immersed in a strong local cycling culture, he witnessed first-hand the rapid growth of the sport and understood the needs of riders at every level. From elite competitors to social cyclists, his goal was always the same: to create products that delivered real performance benefits without compromising on style or comfort.

But, as with sport, the launch in 2021 was never the destination—only the start of the journey.

By 2025, the brand evolved in response to growing demand and deeper insight into the market. Leveraging our expertise in performance apparel, we shifted our focus toward custom sports kit and merchandise. Working closely with teams, clubs, and organisations, we began creating bespoke solutions that combined elite-level performance with distinctive design—helping others represent who they are, just as Shane had always wanted to do himself.

Today, the brand stands as a reflection of that journey: from retail beginnings to a specialist in custom sportswear, driven by the same principles that defined Shane’s career—high standards, continuous improvement, and a belief that great kit should perform brilliantly and look the part, wherever it’s worn.

The story so far

Initial concept - 2020

During the Covid-19 lockdown, Shane has the pens and pencils out at the kitchen table, working on the initial plan for his own sportswear brand. 

AGILIS launch - July 2021

AGILIS launches with an initial range of cycling and leisurewear. 

Commercial partnerships - September 2021

The first of our retail partnerships and custom kit is launched. 

Supporting charity rides - April 2022

Several ex rugby pros and fundraisers tackle the rolling roads of Mallorca in our cycling jerseys in aid Velindre Cancer Charity. This will be the first of many events we have created branded sports kit for Velindre. 

New fabrics & more partners - July 2024

We launched refreshed designs and incorporated new fabrics into our ranges. Numerous businesses, charities and clubs partnered with us to create their sports kit. 

National Champion Jersey - April 2025

In April we revealed the Welsh Cycling National Champion jersey we created for Joe Holt. We also created age group kit for Team Tri Cymru and would go on to support several additional charities and events throughout the year. 

Acquiring businesses - December 2025

In December 2025 we acquired custom merchandise company Penwisg and triathlon brand SBR Clothing. 

A new launch - January 2026

Building on the success of our previous custom kit partnerships and with the acquisition of Penwisg and SBR Clothing, AGILIS is now solely focussed on delivering high quality merchandise and custom sports kit to groups, businesses, clubs and charities.
